Transportation

Transportation Network

Liloy is a coastal municipality and can be reached by land, water and air transportation, but land is the most preferred by the residents since there is no facilities that caters to the needs of water and sea riding residents.  At present, the port located in barangay Lamao is still under construction and is used as docking point for fishermen and some residents who owned motorized pump boats in going to and from other areas in the province.

On the other hand, the airport caters only to small and light aircrafts that ferry charted passengers to and from Zamboanga City and to any other area of destination within the region.  However, since the time that those flights were suspended because of the peace and order in the province, it has not resumed since then.

Moreover, the presence of the national road that traverses the municipality and the availability of buses like the Rural Transit, Ceres Liner, Mini Bus, aircon vans and jeepneys plying the route from Dipolog City up to Zamboanga City facilitate easy transport of people and goods to any point of destination.

Likewise, the minibuses, jeepneys and the single motorcycles commonly known as habal-habal, operates from the poblacion to the different barangays in the municipality.   Habal-habal is the most available means of transportation in going to far flung barangays.

The frequency of trips within the municipality is dependent on the availability of passengers.
